dude, just cut your hair

One of the best feelings is realizing that you are in control of your own life. Yes sometimes other people’s decisions affect you, but you are the person in control. Take a minute and think about how you feel about the life you’re living right now. Do you love it? Great, keep doing you boo! Think you can change it a little? Sounds good to me. Either way, it is a great thing to get your haircut.

My beautiful bestie before the chop…

Now, this may seem weird and out there, but read a little more.

You grow your own hair, you style your hair, you cry and smile over your hair. People love their hair- that’s a fact. So I am coming to you with a whole new theory I have. When a girl cuts her hair that is when she is taking power back. I don’t mean a trim or an inch off. I mean the girl has chopped off her hair, possibly even dyed it and is going full blown self-care mode.

This is one of my favorite things to watch. The selfies that follow with this new haircut usually have a bigger smile and brighter eyes. They are confident, powerful and a force not to be messed with. Cutting your hair is when you start a new chapter. You hit the reset button, make a list of things to do, figure out whom you want to be and chop off the split ends.

andddd after! New hair, new Emma! #GirlPower

This may sound crazy or far out there but watch. The girl who broke up with her boyfriend is going to chop off her hair once she realizes she doesn’t need him. The senior that graduated high school is getting bangs in time for college to roll around. The guy who is finally finding where he fits in this world just went blonde.

Your hair becomes your trademark. It is apart of you and you have total control over yourself and obviously your hair. Go cut your hair. Dye it purple. Get side bangs. Do whatever you want and get to self-care. Work on yourself for yourself. You have the power to do whatever you want with your life. It’s an amazing thing once you realize that.
